about me
My name is Nira Suarez, native Spanish teacher, born and raised in the Canary islands! Lover of languages and cultures, I offer Spanish lessons for everyone (kids, teenagers and adults) at all levels, both face-to-face and online. Each person learns differently, that is why my work focuses on finding the methodology that corresponds to each one and adapting my classes to it. Throughout my career in teaching Spanish as a foreign language, my students have noted an improvement in their skills and overall understanding of the language. my experience
My interest of teaching Spanish came "by chance" on 2011, while I was living in Barcelona and had to earn some extra money while still studying. Even though this wasn't my main occupation, and I self-taught myself for a while, I started loving this job more than I expected. I learned to develop skills in teaching private Spanish lessons with the aim of helping students to communicate and understand the language better. I encouraged the students to practice the vocabulary learned and helped them to listen, speak, write and read Spanish accurately. I used techniques such as role-playing games, dialogues, language games, literature, movies, and other formal exercises.
It wasn't after I finished my Master's Degree on Teaching Spanish as Foreign Language that I properly enrolled as a teacher in another country. I moved to Poland and started teaching online and offline in El Dorado Cultural Center, a place that came to be my second home. I started an online training as an English teacher, and continued teaching Spanish as a foreign language. I was In charge of groups and private students, both at the school and in companies (school clients).
I came back home to Tenerife and (while still teaching online in El Dorado) I had the chance to become part of FU International Academy Tenerife for a small period of time. I was in charge of several groups and we followed a specific curriculum set by the school.

frequently asked questions
I don't speak ANY Spanish, how are we going to communicate?
I use quite intuitive methods and I try to speak in Spanish 99% of the time, but in case of being a beginner we can speak in a common language if you prefer (for example, English), for specific things and to make you feel more comfortable.
Can I book a trial lesson to see if I like your methodology?
The first class or trial lesson lasts about 15-20 minutes, it's free and helps us to get to know each other while helping me to become aware of your needs. It is not a class itself, but it will give you an idea of what we will work on and how we will organize the following lessons.
Where are the classes held? Do you only teach online classes?
Most of the lessons I teach are online, but if you don't like this methodology, we can meet at my home school or we can find a place that is convenient for you. (Only available offline in Tenerife).
How do I pay for the lessons?
Payment can be made by bank transfer and also by applications such as Bizum or Verse. If you have any preference or problem with remote payment, we will find a solution.
